Bruce and Denise Morcombe to visit the School


Bruce and Denise Morcombe visit to Morayfield East State School

On Thursday the 5th of June Bruce and Denise Morcombe

will be visiting the school as part of the 2014 “Recognise,

React and Report” Tour. They will be speaking with students

from years 3-7 in a special assembly focusing on protective

behaviours and helping students to keep themselves safe. The

key focus of the presentation will be to help students recognise

threats to their physical, psychological and emotional wellbeing

and identifying strategies they can use to deal with these

threats. In addition to the focus on personal safety Bruce and

Denise will be addressing the issues of cyber and phone safety.

The message that Bruce and Denise will be sharing with our

children will further enrich the Education Queensland Daniel

Morcombe curriculum that teaches key safety messages to

students from Prep to Year 9 in Queensland schools and is

currently being taught in a number of our classrooms. The

school is very grateful for the opportunity to work with Bruce

and Denise and look forward to hearing their powerful


The assembly will be held in the Hall and will begin at 9am.

Parents are also invited to attend the assembly and will all need

to be seated by 9.00am sharp.​
