Supporting Diverse Learners at Morayfield East State School
At Morayfield East State School, we are committed to creating an inclusive learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional development of every student. Aligned with the Queensland Department of Education’s inclusive education policy, our approach ensures that all learners—regardless of background, ability, or learning need—have equitable access to high-quality education and opportunities to succeed.
Our dedicated team plays a crucial role in supporting students with diverse learning needs. The Head of Diverse Learners leads this work, coordinating targeted interventions and collaborating closely with teachers to personalise learning. We also have a Guidance Officer who provides support, assessment, and mental health support to students and families.
To further strengthen our support network, Morayfield East has a School-Based Social Worker who assists with wellbeing and community connections, and we are actively recruiting a new School Chaplain to support student engagement and resilience. Our Community Education Counsellor (CEC) works closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and their families to foster cultural safety and success.
Additionally, students benefit from access to specialised services, including a Speech Therapist and Occupational Therapist, who deliver tailored programs to develop communication, sensory, and motor skills.
These supports, alongside our inclusive teaching practices, ensure that all students at Morayfield East State School feel valued, capable, and connected. We remain dedicated to nurturing every learner’s potential through a whole-school approach that celebrates diversity and promotes success for all.
